All-on-4 Dental Implants

Why Patients Choose Us

Specialized Surgical Expertise
Dr. Sean Healy and Dr. Diego Hurtado are oral surgeons with advanced, specialized training in full-arch restoration. Their surgical precision reduces the risk of complications and increases long-term success. This level of care goes beyond what general dentists typically offer.

Guided, Precision-Based Technology
We use the X-Guide™ live navigation system, often described as “surgical GPS,” to ensure exact implant placement. This approach supports better treatment planning, faster recovery, improved comfort, and better long-term results.

Proven All-on-4 Success
By placing implants at carefully calculated angles, we can often avoid the need for bone grafting. This allows more patients to qualify for treatment and return to life with a complete smile more quickly.

Care Beyond Surgery
From consultation through recovery, we provide clear communication, compassionate support, and full coordination with your restorative dentist. You will always know what to expect at every stage of care.

Why Choose Full-Arch Restoration Using the All-on-4 Technique?

Though our traditional dental implants made from zirconia and implant-supported dentures are great solutions for widespread tooth loss, not all patients qualify. Fortunately, All-on-4 dental implants can support your denture while offering unique benefits, such as:

Improved Candidacy

Traditional dental implant-supported dentures are the best way to treat tooth loss unless you have experienced advanced jaw atrophy, a natural side effect of tooth loss. By angling the posterior implants to achieve maximum surface contact with the bone tissue of the jaw, this solution can often support dentures right away, without the need for bone grafting.

Less Cost and Time

Traditional dental implant techniques can be expensive and time-consuming. Treatment with All-on-4 implants comes at a reduced cost, often eliminates the need for preparatory surgery, and involves a shorter treatment process.

Quicker Relief

Because the innovative All-on-4 technique involves placing specially designed dental implants at angles that maximize contact with bone tissue, they are immediately stable enough to support a full denture. This allows you to leave our Santa Fe dental office with a complete and functional smile. You would have to wait several months for traditional dental implants to integrate with the jaw and become able to support your restoration.

A Closer Look at All-on-4 Candidacy

Many of our patients from Santa Fe, NM, and beyond who do not qualify for traditional zirconia implants due to bone loss have better luck with All-on-4. However, other factors can affect your candidacy, such as:

Overall Health

We do not recommend All-on-4 if you are not healthy enough to undergo surgery. Additionally, medical conditions like autoimmune disorders and uncontrolled diabetes can increase your risk for complications. Talk to our team about your medical history to ensure treatment is a safe option for you.

Smoking

Smoking is also a risk factor for treatment and can prolong the recovery process and cause implant failure. While it is possible to undergo All-on-4 if you smoke, you will need to quit several months prior to implant placement and refrain from tobacco products throughout your recovery.

Dental Health

You must be in good oral health before starting your All-on-4 dental implants procedure. If needed, we can provide treatment for gum disease or tooth decay to improve your candidacy. You must also be committed to practicing good dental hygiene on a daily basis to ensure the best results.

The only way to know if treatment is right for you is to request a consultation at our office in Santa Fe, NM. Speaking with one of our doctors will allow them to determine if you could benefit from treatment.

The All-on-4 Treatment Timeline

1. Consultation

Our oral surgeons will use advanced technology, including CT scans, to evaluate your jawbone health. Then, we can determine if the All-on-4 technique or another option is right for you.

2. Anesthesia

We will administer the appropriate type and amount of anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout your procedure. You can depend on us to review your medical history and monitor your vital signs to ensure that this is carried out safely.

3. Implant Placement

Next, we will create small incisions in the gums and place the predetermined number of titanium implants into the upper or lower jaw.

4. Completing Surgery

We will close the incisions with dissolvable stitches and have you bite down on a piece of gauze. We can also place a temporary restoration provided by your dentist for you to wear during recovery. At this point, you can return home. We will provide special instructions to ensure a safe recovery.

5. Healing and Recovery

Though most patients feel completely recovered from All-on-4 surgery after a week or two, it takes four to six months for the implants to fuse with the surrounding bone tissue and become stable.

6. Final Restoration

After your complete recovery, you can return to our office to receive your permanent prosthetic. Your custom denture can be fabricated by a restorative dentist and attached to the All-on-4 dental implants for exceptional stability and restored function.

The Cost of All-on-4

Surgery

The cost of this dental treatment option is about $13,500, which includes surgery and the implants. This price does not include custom dentures. Please see a restorative dentist for a dentures quote.

Insurance

We are pre-authorized with most medical insurance providers. Our dental implant coordinators will check the terms of your plan to determine if any costs can be covered by insurance.

Payment Options

Insurance rarely covers the total cost of this treatment. We accept CareCredit® financing, which offers low-interest payment plan options. We also accept standard credit cards, cash, and checks.

An Alternative Option: Advanced Zygomatic Implants

If you have suffered severe bone recession, you may have been told that you are not a candidate for any type of implant-supported dentures. Zygomatic implants may be the solution, offering support for replacement teeth on your upper dental arch.

We will insert these longer implants into your cheekbones, rather than your jawbone. Thus, we can eliminate the need for bone grafting or a sinus lift. These preparatory surgeries typically require an additional 6–12 months of recovery before you can receive your implants.

Zygomatic implants also have a higher success rate than traditional implants combined with a graft or sinus lift. Dr. Healy and Dr. Hurtado will use our advanced technology to evaluate your jawbone health. Then they can determine whether traditional implants, All-on-4, or zygomatic implants are right for you.
